I am very happy to share a conversation I had recently with my friend Kevin Johnson. We discussed Christian animism and it’s relevance for the modern world. Sharing from our personal experiences as well as our own study and research, we explore the need for, and the possibility of, new forms of Christianity rooted in the land and the tradition. Kevin shares his academic perspective as a university professor, as well as the developing animist shape of his Catholic faith. Justin shares from his experience in indigenous ceremony as well as his reading of ancient and medieval Christian texts.

If you are interested in Christian animism and would like to hear more, I will be one of several presenters at a symposium organised by Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. I will be sharing a short excerpt from a medieval Irish story about Adam and Eve praying in and with a river and all the creatures living in it. The symposium is happening on March 15 2025, click HERE to learn more and register for free.
